Auburn Tigers Hire Hugh Freeze as Head Football Coach

Experienced Coach Returns to SEC

Auburn Athletics Director John Cohen has announced the hiring of Hugh Freeze as the new head football coach of the Auburn Tigers. Freeze, who previously led the Liberty Flames to four bowl games, brings a wealth of experience and a proven track record of success to the Plains.

Fast-Paced Offense and Strong Recruiting

Freeze is known for his fast-paced, high-scoring offense. He has a track record of developing talented quarterbacks and playmakers, and his teams have consistently ranked among the most productive in the country. Freeze is also a strong recruiter, having brought in top talent to both Liberty and his previous stops at Ole Miss and Arkansas State.

Proven Leader in the SEC

Freeze is returning to the SEC, where he has a wealth of experience. He previously coached Ole Miss from 2012 to 2016, leading the Rebels to back-to-back top-25 finishes in the AP Poll. Freeze also has experience in the state of Alabama, having served as the offensive coordinator at Troy University from 2007 to 2009.

High Expectations at Auburn

The Auburn Tigers are coming off a disappointing season under former head coach Bryan Harsin. Freeze will be tasked with rebuilding the program and restoring its status as a contender in the SEC. Auburn fans have high expectations for Freeze, and he will need to quickly establish a winning culture and develop a competitive team.

With his experience, offensive acumen, and recruiting skills, Hugh Freeze has the potential to lead Auburn back to prominence. The Tigers are excited to welcome him to the Plains and look forward to the future under his leadership.
