In a thrilling second leg of the UEFA Champions League quarterfinal, Borussia Dortmund overcame a 2-0 first-leg deficit to defeat Atletico Madrid 4-2 at the Signal Iduna Park. With the 5-4 aggregate victory, Dortmund advances to the semifinals, where they will face the winner of the Bayern Munich vs. Inter Milan tie.
Atletico Madrid looked set to build on their first-leg advantage when they took an early 2-0 lead in the return fixture. However, Dortmund came roaring back with two goals in the second half from Julian Brandt and Iñigo Maatsen. The hosts completed the comeback in the second half with goals from Niclas Füllkrug and Marcel Sabitzer.
