Former UKIP leader Nigel Farage is to undergo surgery on his back, it has been announced.
The 59-year-old has been experiencing back pain for several years, and the surgery is expected to take place in the coming weeks.
Farage, who led UKIP from 2010 to 2016, is now the leader of the Brexit Party.
In a statement, Farage said: "I have been experiencing back pain for some time now, and it has been getting worse in recent months.
"I have decided to have surgery to try and fix the problem.
"I am confident that the surgery will be successful, and I am looking forward to getting back to full health as soon as possible."
Farage's surgery is expected to take place at a private hospital in London.
